I like the concept and this looks really interesting and I would love to play it but the game is telling me that my web browser isn't supported despite the fact I am using firefox rendering it completely unplayable

Yeah, it was built many years ago. I think for GGJ 2018. The API it uses only works on Google Chrome nowadays. Sorry!
